How to use a stepper-motor from old disk drives

Why and how to use components from old disk drives?

DC motor speed control using PWM

DC motor speed control based on PIC16F867.

The circuit is using PWM with frequency about 10kHz, which does not make a noise in the motor. This project can drive motor with 1A current without heat. The motor speed is controlled by potentiometer which is connected to ADC input of PIC16F867.

BitESC - motor controller

The BitESC is a small electronic speed controller for those little RC cars like the MicroSizer / BitChar-G. It can be used in a small RC plane to have some control over the speed of the motor.
