How to build game console based on ARM7 chip?

Image: Craig J. Bishop

This game console has an Atmel ARM7 microcontroller AT91R40008 overclocked at 100MHz. Such fast ARM allows to run simple games like Super Mario, but it can't serve higher resolution VGA image (224×240 and 256colors). The console has the second processor, a PIC18F4682, which is used only for generating VGA signals and addressing dual-port Video RAM.
